Stores Department: Collection and storage

The continued high level of purchases of sand has resulted in the exhaustion of the provision of $1,500,000 for the collection and storage of sand under Stores Department (Head 38 Subhead 21).

2.

Finance Committee has approved supplementary provisions totalling $910,000 which amount is off-set by corresponding revenue. Your formal approval of this supplementary provision is requested in accordance with

(25) on 54126/5/48 your despatch No.302 of 25th September, 1948.

In cases where expenditure is covered by corresponding revenue, it is suggested that you may be prepared to waive reference to you which at present is necessary under the terms of the above-mentioned despatch.
